Climbing the Ladder – Ryno Hire Achievements

Starting with hope for more, Ryno Hire was built from a single machine on the small chance of making it into what it has become today. We understand what it is like to be a self-starter. We managed to overcome the hardships of starting a business in an industry where there are already several other businesses providing the same services. However, we knew that our approach would stand out from competitors and so we never stopped trying to reach to the top. And now, 5 years later, here we are, fulfilling our dreams while serving the local community!

We understand the importance of being part of a community. A business can only thrive amidst a strong community bond. Which is why we continually strive to find ways to serve the community. For example, just last year, we supported the youth community by taking on board a bright and amazing young man with autism and also donated our machinery and equipment to help clean up flood-affected areas during the Murwillumbah flooding in 2016. These are just some of the ways we have been able to help because we believe that no matter how small or big a business, there are always ways to give back to the community.

We know how tough it can be as a self-starter. You have to work 14 hour days, 7 days a week trying to turn your dreams into a business. And so, we would like to share our achievements and inspire members of the local community and other small businesses to never give up on their dreams!

And if we can do it, then so can you!

As a small business owner, that has only been operating for the last five years, we have had the opportunity to become finalists of some of the biggest industry awards that take place in Australia annually.

Result: Finalist

The Hire Industry Excellence Awards is one of the most prestigious and sought after ceremonies and we were honoured enough to be a finalist. The selection criteria for finalists under this category is based on customer service, safety and performance. Only those that take the extra mile in ensuring customer satisfaction needs are met, make it to the finals. Becoming a finalist in this award has benchmarked our position in the industry and given us the humble reassurance that we are doing right by our customers.

The Australian Small Business Champion Awards is a comprehensive competition designed to shed light onto those that serve the local community by generating employment and contributing to the Australian economy. The essence of this program is to recognise the valuable skills of a successful business including their services, commitment, leadership, innovation, performance, generosity to the customers and the local community. Making it to the finals twice in a row has confirmed our ongoing success in this category.

Our hard work paid off when we were announced as finalists for the listed categories above for the Moreton Bay Region Business Excellence and Innovation Awards. As the name suggests, the Customer Service Excellence Awards category recognises businesses that have reflected an exceptional customer service over the last 12 months. In order to become a finalist, Ryno Hire needed to prove that our customers are not only satisfied but delighted with our services. Not to mention, our very own Chris Ryan becoming a finalist under the Young Entrepreneurship category was a good display of hispassion and commitment to the business.

These awards have made us appreciate all the hard work our entire team here at Ryno Hire has put in. It also helped us visualise ways in which we can keep developing in order to better serve the community and our customers. Having only been a small start-up, we feel very lucky to have become finalists in so many prestigious awards in such a short time frame.

How We Do It?

There are several reasons we have become a thriving dry-hire business. It’s not just about the services we offer, or how we offer them. It is also about doing things outside of just being a business. It is about becoming part of a functional and robust community.

We don’t run our business the traditional way. We focus on our customers and our employees rather than just our bottom line.

1.Serving customers above all else

We don’t treat our customers like numbers. We cater to our customers in the best way that we can, to provide them with the services and equipment they need. There are a few things we do that help us stand out from our competitors:

• Customers have access to the owners outside of normal operating hours. We ensure customers have the peace of mind knowing that no matter what happens, they can contact the team at Ryno Hire when they need us.
• Extended business hours. Most of our customers work normal business hours, which is why we have extended hours, so our customers can reach us even after work.
• We are HUGE on customer feedback. We always encourage feedback from our customers to determine ways we can improve our customer service. Whether it is a good review or otherwise, we take it into account and adjust our services accordingly.
• We can even outsource machines from other companies if we don’t have the available stock or a customer requires a particular machine that we do not have. We always make sure our customers have everything they need to get their job done.

It is about going that extra mile to ensure 100% customer satisfaction!

2. Following a unique business model

Ryno Hire is a young company. A company of passionate individuals striving to operate in a fully functional business structure. At Ryno Hire, we are constantly finding ways to improve our business growth, profit and ensuring our employees are working in a safe and productive environment. We don’t treat our employees as people that work under us, but rather as colleagues, people we work alongside. We encourage employee input and ideas because we believe everyone should have a say!

3. Finding the sweet spot between traditional and new

We use traditional methods integrated with new systems and technologies to stand out from our competitors. At Ryno Hire, we embrace technology and innovation. We know when to follow the traditional business model, but we also have a strong sense and capability of blending in with recent technology, which is ever-changing. It’s important to stay up to date but also keep in mind previous processes that have worked before in order to continue to succeed.

4. Being part of a community

It is important to be part of a community where the employees are treated fairly and receive the community benefits they are entitled to. Therefore, we show no bias when it comes to employment. This is important in order to be a productive business and a helpful community member.

And did we mention? We are also going green! Like many other companies, we have recently employed a waste management system. This helps us recycle waste when we can, increasing sustainability. By implementing such a system and taking responsibility for the waste we produce, we are reducing the company’s contribution to greenhouse gas emissions.
