How long is a hire period?
One full day consists of a maximum of 12 hours unless arranged otherwise with Ryno Hire. Half day is considered a maximum of 4 hours hire and is available in the am or pm only, on limited equipment. Contact us for details.
What identifications is required?
A valid open Australian driver’s license is required to hire any equipment from Ryno Hire, all hirees must be over the age of 21.
Do I need to pay a deposit? What security is needed?
A deposit is not required if you can provide a valid Visa, Master or Amex credit card as security. However, if you do not have a credit card (i.e. you only have an EFTPOS or DEBIT card) you are required to provide a cash bond of a minimum $500 which will be returned to you (less any additional charges) after a satisfactory return of equipment.
How and when can I pay?
Payment is required before or at time of pick up / delivery of equipment. Payment can be made via cash, visa/master cards (merchant fee may apply) or direct deposit. Proof of payment is required prior to taking possession of all hired equipment.
What licences do I need to operate the equipment?
Our equipment does not require any special licenses or tickets to operate. Only a valid open driver’s license is required to hire.
I’ve never used plant equipment before, can I still hire one and are they difficult to use?
We have many individuals hiring our equipment that have never used them before. Ryno Hire can provide you with brief instructions on how to use the equipment being hired. A manufacturer’s operator’s manual is also provided with all hired equipment for further information. We encourage customers to call us at any stage if you are unsure about anything during the hire.
What time can I pick up & drop off the equipment?
The equipment can be picked up from as early as 6am the morning of your hire date and to be returned no later than 5pm at end of hire. Equipment can be arranged for pick up the afternoon before, however, this is subject to availability of stock. All pick up, return and delivery times need to be pre-arranged with Ryno Hire with sufficient notice.
Is there any requipment before return of the equipment?
We request that you phone Ryno Hire on 07 3353 2230 one (1) hour before you are wanting to return the equipment to ensure someone is at the depot to assist you. Under no circumstances is the equipment to be left outside of our depot as a means of returning the equipment, the hireer is ultimately responsible for all equipment until it is returned and signed back in by Ryno Hire. Please ensure all equipment is returned clean, free from damage and with a full tank of fuel to prevent any unwanted additional charges.
Is there any additional charges for the hire?
If equipment is not returned as per Ryno Hire terms and conditions, some charges may apply. Such charges can include cleaning, fuel, additional delivery and damage fees.
Do I need to clean & fuel the equipment?
Yes. All hired equipment is provided to you clean, lubricated and with a full tank of fuel. All equipment must be returned as they went out, i.e. cleaned and fully fueled. All equipment must be lubricated as per manufactures specifications. As stated above, if the equipment is not returned to a satisfactory state as per Ryno Hire terms and conditions additional fees and charges may apply.
What if I don't use the attachment I hired?
Hire charges are based on time out and not time used for all hires. All equipment will be regarded as ‘on hire’ until returned to Ryno Hire depot. It is suggested you collect and return hired attachments only on the day(s) of use to avoid any additional charges.
I don't have a vehicle that can tow, is there a delivery & collections service available? What is the cost?
Yes. Delivery is available to all customers, the cost is calculated based on the distance from Ryno Hire depot to the destination. Contact us for delivery rates.
Can I pick up the equipment myself?
Yes. Provided you have a vehicle that has the ability to tow the minimum weight requirements of equipment to be towed as per your vehicle’s manufacturers specifications. Weight will vary, dependent on equipment. ALL towing vehicles MUST adhere to the legal towing specifications and road laws as per the QLD Department of Main Roads. Drivers are responsible for equipment and trailers when towing. All speeding fines and toll fees will be on charged to drivers.
Can I have an account with Ryno Hire?
Yes. Provided you are an ABN holder you can apply for either a 14 or 30-day account with Ryno Hire. Contact us for more information or if you wish to apply for a credit account. Please note all applicants are subject to approval.
Is there any insurance while transporting equipment?
Yes. Ryno Hire’s insurance will cover all equipment and trailers hired from Ryno Hire while in transportation, provided the towing vehicle is operating within legal requirements and abiding by all QLD Department of Main Roads road laws. E.g. if your vehicle is towing more than the manufacturer’s specifications, you will NOT be covered by insurance.
Is there any insurance while operating equipment?
No. As soon as any equipment is used as a tool of trade (i.e. you start using it), Ryno Hire cannot insure an individual or company. This is the responsibility of the individual or company’s insurance.
