Through Ryno Hire, you know you’re getting the best value for money and the highest quality equipment. From excavators to loaders, Ryno Hire has all you need for your next dry hire for both long and short term. In this case, we would like to focus on two different types of mini loaders up for hire that can accomplish just about any DIY job you can think of. Whether you have a DIY job you’ve been putting off for too long or you just need to dry hire for a contracted job. Whatever it is, before you decide to dig, here’s what you need to know about mini loaders.
Mini loaders come in different sizes and attachments for the corresponding workload. Depending on where you hire from, you need to consider the costs as well as what your job requires. Is your space very small or do you have plenty of room? Many people in the past have hired equipment without knowing how to use it. But this isn’t a problem as the internet provides a great source of self-help where there are useful videos that show you how to use the lever, bucket tilt, arm lift and also how to prepare for your project. However, when you choose Ryno Hire, we can provide you with a thorough demonstration on how to operate the hired equipment before you get started, so you can feel confident and know all the safety procedures.
Benefits of Mini Loaders
When construction workers use mini loaders they get to spend most of their shift standing up which boosts productivity and decreases fatigue as operating these machines doesn’t require you to sit down like other machines. Mini loaders are also good if you need to gain access between narrow spaces such as houses, fences or doorways. The occupations that stand to benefit from a mini loader are those who work as concreters, pool installers, landscapists and arborists. However, whatever the project, whether private or trade, or if you’re an expert or a beginner… Ryno Hire has mini loader equipment suitable for anyone to use anytime, and for as long as you need it! We’ve found that private hires particularly benefit from dry hiring as they find the flexibility and accessibility useful.
How they work.
Most mini loaders have:
-
- Four wheels or tracks on either side
- Can fit different attachments: Auger Drills, Chain Trenchers and Spreader Bar
- Are associated with different names such as; mini digger, Dingo, or Kanga
- Allows you to stand on the machine to focus on the workload in front of you
- Mini loaders are excellent in both the domestic and commercial environment
- Are available in either Petrol or Diesel
What are they used for?
Mini loaders are mainly used for moving soil, sand, rubble, rocks, mulch, loading other bigger trays, dumpers, or trailers and can also be used for excavation and refilling holes for excavating water channels, fencing and planting, trenching for cable laying, or leveling for laying turf. Though a small machine, it has powerful capabilities to reduce hard manual labour that would otherwise be time-consuming.
At Ryno Hire, there are two special mini loaders available for hire, the 500kg Mini Tracked Loader and the 1 Tonne Mini Wheeled Loader. Below are the specifications of each machine.

Attachments
Most mini loaders have available attachments specific for their DIY jobs such as the spreader bar, auger drills and chain trenchers. However, the size you need will depend on the job at hand. Not just that, but it’s important to know what each attachment can be used for.
500kg Mini Tracked Loader | 1Tonne Mini Wheeled Loader | |
---|---|---|
Auger Drills | 200-300mm | 150-450mm |
Spreader Bar | 1,100mm | 1,100-1,200mm |
Chain Trencher | n/a | 100mm |
What are they used for?
Post Hole Borers/Auger Drills: Mainly used for fencing, such as boring holes in the ground to allow fence posts to be put into place. Which are also essential for creating solid foundations and for planting large trees. An exceptional piece of engineering that acts as a spiral (very large drill bit) allowing any worker to continuously dig deeper into the ground almost effortlessly. This attachment is used mainly for planting and digging for posts.
Spreader Bars: Primarily used to level the ground, typically at the end of the job. This is to help ensure the finish is flat for laying turf, gravel or pouring concrete for footpaths and driveways for example.
Chain Trenchers: If you ever needed to complete a bigger project or need to dig a continuous trench for laying cables, or installing pipes for drainage then the chain trenches are a great attachment to use.
Hire period
It’s also a good idea to find out when the machines are available, there’s nothing worse than organising a job onsite and finding out there is a lengthy wait on machinery and equipment. So you should always plan ahead. Hiring periods can be from as little as four-hour half days, weekend projects, to weeks or even months. However long you need a mini loader, Ryno Hire has all the dry hire equipment you need to stay organised and productive to get the job done.
Bottom Line
When organising your next DIY project, always plan ahead and make sure you have an understanding of the equipment your using. Mini loaders may be mini for a reason, but that doesn’t mean they can’t help you get big jobs done around the house. Before tackling into your next project, always remember the hire cost of the equipment, time management (how long will you need it for?) and what types of attachments you may need for the job you’re doing. The two biggest questions you need to ask yourself is: What is your next project? And is a mini loader right for you? If you answered yes, then what are you waiting for!
